The Friends of the Libraries, Kona will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the lanai of the Kailua-Kona Public Library. Proceeds from sales help support the needs of Kona libraries.
The Friends of the Libraries, Kona will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday on the lanai of the Kailua-Kona Public Library. Proceeds from sales help support the needs of Kona libraries.
The event will also feature an end-of-season clearance sale with nearly all books being sold at half-price. A bag of adult fiction will be available for $3. FOLK is also launching a new program targeting schools. Big Island teachers presenting officials school ID at the sale may collect up to 30 free books for classrooms and reading programs. Teachers also receive 30 percent discount on items intended for classroom use.
Volunteers are welcome and book donations are accepted. FOLK is also looking for additional volunteers during the week to assist in sorting the donations in preparation for the sales.
